Scope Of This Policy
This Privacy Policy explains how OPVII collects, uses, shares, and protects information when you visit our website, create an account, register for an event through a business that uses our platform, or otherwise interact with our SMS and email messaging program.
Information We Collect
We collect the information you provide directly, including your name, email address, mobile phone number, and event or registration details. We also collect information generated by your use of the service, such as message delivery status, opt-in and opt-out timestamps, support requests, and standard technical and usage data like IP address, device and browser type, and cookie identifiers.
How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to operate the service, including confirming registrations, sending the SMS and email reminders you or your registrants opted into, providing customer support, processing billing and payments, monitoring and securing the platform, and complying with legal obligations. We do not use your mobile phone number or SMS opt-in data for any purpose beyond delivering the messaging program you signed up for.
SMS / Text Messaging Privacy
Mobile opt-in information and phone numbers collected for SMS consent are not shared with, sold, or rented to third parties or affiliates for their marketing or promotional purposes, under any circumstances. This information is used solely to deliver the event confirmations and reminders you opted in to receive, and to operate the messaging program described in these policies.
How SMS Consent Works
When you register for an event through a business using OPVII, you may be presented with an opt-in checkbox or similar consent mechanism describing the text messages you will receive. By opting in, you consent to receive registration confirmations, event reminders, schedule-change notices, and related account or support texts. Message frequency depends on the number and timing of events you register for. Message and data rates may apply.
Opting Out Of Text Messages
You may opt out of SMS messages at any time by replying STOP to any message you receive; you will get a one-time confirmation that you have been unsubscribed, and we will not send further texts to that number unless you opt in again. Reply HELP to any message for assistance, or contact us using the details below.
Email Communications And Opt-Out
We send transactional emails, such as registration confirmations, and reminder emails tied to events you registered for. Every reminder email includes a visible unsubscribe link, and supported messages include a one-click List-Unsubscribe option honored automatically by participating mail providers. You can unsubscribe from reminder emails at any time without affecting your ability to use the underlying service.
Third-Party Service Providers
We use a limited set of trusted subprocessors to operate the platform: SendGrid and Amazon SES to deliver email, Twilio, SignalWire, and AWS End User Messaging to deliver SMS text messages, and Stripe to process payments.
These providers receive only the information needed to perform their function, are contractually bound to protect it, and are prohibited from using it for their own marketing or from selling it to any other party.
Data Retention
We retain personal information, including messaging consent records, for as long as your account is active and for a reasonable period afterward to satisfy legal, accounting, and dispute-resolution requirements. Opt-in and opt-out records are retained to demonstrate compliance with carrier and legal requirements even after a number has opted out.
Data Security
We apply administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect personal and mobile data against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. Access to registrant data and messaging records is limited to personnel and systems involved in delivering, supporting, and securing the platform.
Our Security page at http://opvii.localhost:8100/security sets out the specifics: how workspaces are isolated, what is encrypted, what is logged and for how long, and how card payments are handled. It is kept deliberately precise about what we do and do not claim.
Cookies And Tracking
Our website uses cookies and similar technologies to keep you signed in, remember preferences, and understand aggregate usage of the site. You can control cookies through your browser settings; disabling them may limit some website functionality but will not affect SMS or email delivery you have already opted into.
Children's Privacy
Our service is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us and we will take appropriate steps to remove it.
Your Rights And Choices
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, or delete the personal information we hold about you, and to opt out of SMS and email communications as described above. To exercise any of these rights, contact us using the details below and we will respond within a reasonable time.
Do Not Sell Or Share My Information
We have never sold personal information, mobile numbers or SMS opt-in data, for money or for anything else of value, and we do not engage in the sale of data as defined by the California Consumer Privacy Act or any similar state law.
Registrant data, mobile numbers and SMS opt-in records are additionally never shared for cross-context behavioral advertising. No signed-in page and no part of the attendee portal carries an analytics or advertising tag.
Our public marketing pages do carry analytics and ad measurement tags, which in California is most sensibly treated as sharing for cross-context behavioral advertising. Select Your Privacy Choices in the footer to switch those off, or send a Global Privacy Control signal and we act on it without being asked. The full California notice is at /california.
International Use
Our service is intended for use in the United States. If you access the service from outside the United States, your information may be processed in the United States. Regardless of where it is processed, we do not sell or share mobile opt-in data with third parties for marketing purposes.
Changes To This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, technology, or legal requirements. When we make material changes, we will update the "Last Updated" date above. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
