How OPVII Works
How a registration reaches your workspace, turns into reminders, and ends up as an attendance number.

Read this first if you are new. It explains what happens between somebody signing up and you counting heads in the room, and where each part of that lives in the portal.
The One Thing OPVII Does
You run events. People register for them somewhere else: an email confirmation, a form on your site, a spreadsheet from a mailer. OPVII takes those registrations, turns each one into a single clean record, and sends that person a timed series of reminders by text and email so they actually turn up. Then you record who did, and the platform tells you whether the reminders are working.
What Happens When A Registration Arrives
Every route into OPVII ends in the same three steps. The Connections page states them on screen as However They Arrive, The Same Three Things Happen:
- The Person Is Matched Or Created. If the email address or phone number already belongs to a contact, the registration attaches to that contact. If not, a new contact is created.
- They Are Attached To The Event. The event is matched by title and date, or created if it is new.
- Your Flow Starts Running. They are enrolled into whichever Notification Flow carries the New-Registration Trigger badge, and their reminders are scheduled from that moment.
Nothing about that changes based on how the registration got in. A forwarded email, a web form submission, a CSV row and a REST API call all land in the same place.
What Gets Sent, And When
A Notification Flow is an ordered list of reminders. Every new workspace ships with one called Default Event Drip, already switched on, already the trigger flow, and set to send both a text and an email at each step:
- 7 days before the event
- 4 days before the event
- 1 day before the event
- 2 hours before the event
- A thank-you 24 hours after the event
You can change the timing, the wording, and the channels. See Understanding Flows.
Where Everything Lives
The left sidebar is grouped. These are the real menu items:
- Overview: Dashboard and Analytics.
- Seminars: Events, Contacts, and Progress. Progress is where you watch people move through a flow.
- Appointments: Appointments and Booking Settings.
- Messaging: Inbox, Notification Flows, and Feedback. The Inbox page carries a tab strip with Inbox, Sent and Templates, so your message wording is reached through Inbox rather than from a sidebar row of its own.
- Workspace: Users and Settings.
Three things are deliberately not in the sidebar:
- Connections is in the menu under your avatar in the top bar, under the Workspace heading. That is where you set up registrations coming in.
- Your plan is reached from the plan chip on the Dashboard, which reads like Starter Plan.
- Support is a button in the top bar.
The Master Switch You Should Know About
The top bar carries a switch that reads Notifications On or Notifications Off. It is on by default. Turned off, every outbound reminder pauses: nothing is sent to your attendees, although flows still enroll people and contacts keep updating in the background. The explainer behind the question mark beside it is titled Notification Mode.
If you are ever asked why no reminders went out, check this switch first.
How To Tell It Is All Working
- Open Events and click an event. The Roster tab lists everybody registered.
- Open Progress. Your flow shows a headcount at each stage and a Next Send time.
- Open Inbox and switch to the Sent tab. Every message OPVII has sent, queued or held is listed there.
